A thuismitheoirí agus a pháistí scoile,
Tá súil agam go bhfuil gach duine ag coinneáil slán. I am hoping that this letter finds all of you well and healthy. 
Cúpla phointí eolais anseo:

  • Awaiting New Circular next week from Department of Education & Skills re: Safe Opening of Schools. Scoil Raifteirí scheduled to open on Monday August 31, 2020. We will be in touch with you regarding the new opening arrangements planned by public health, department etc. 
  • Information, requirements, book list etc.to be issued next week, for our Naíonáin Bheaga/New Junior Infant pupils beginning with Múinteoir Sinéad in Classroom #1 at front of school for their first day on Monday August 31,2020.   
  • We are hopeful that our country is getting the better of coronavirus. We have been asked to continue to keep working together by following guidelines, act responsibility by continuing to practice protocols installed by our public health authorities: keep the 2m distance; wear the mask; wash the hands often; coughing and sneezing etiquette; continuous wiping down of surfaces; staying out in the open, and away from crowds; keep sick people with temps. at home, keep well people at school; all of which are so important to keep everyone in our community safe. 
  • Thank you for your continued positive engagement with Sustained Learning, through the use of new learning platforms of google classroom, google drive and emails which you have used to keep school distance learning working well for pupils since March 12. Staff, Páistí and Parents have worked well. Maith an obair le gach duine agaibh. 
  • Obair Scoile ends on Thur. 18/06/2020; Laethanta saoire an tSamhraidh commences on 24/06/2020-bain taitneamh; enjoy! 
  • Safety First: ROAD-cycling-walking; WATER-swimming-fishing; FARM-electrical-machinery; HOME-cooker-burns. 

 

Ranganna for 2020/2021 are as follows: 
Naíonáin Bheaga: M Sinéad; Naíonáin Mhóra: M Audrey; Rang 1: M Nóirín De Búrca; Rang 2 M Nóirín Uí Dhonnchú; Rang 3: M Pádraig: Rang 4: M Máire; R5 (R4-Cristín) M Michelle; R5 (R4 M Máire) M Cristín R6 M Gearóid. Staff will be in the same classrooms, as last year. The Special Education Team of Teachers are: Niamh Uí Raois and Majella Ní Chonduibh. Thank you to Múinteoir Lúc for his work as a special education teacher and for his participation in all school activites.  
We have one fixed-term teaching post to be appointed later on in the summer. 
Príomhoide Máire Treasa ar Scoir: Retirement of PO: 
Is mian liom sibh a chur ar an eolas go bhfuil mo thréimhse scoir ó mo chuid oibre mar phríomhoide i Scoil Raifteirí buailte liom ar an 31/08/2020. 
I wish to let you know that I am commencing my retirement on Monday, August 31, 2020. I have enjoyed my work as Príomhoide in Scoil Raifteirí. Is scoil íontach í. Tá mé an-bhrodúil as an Ghaeilge atá agaibh, agus an dul chun chinn san obair scoile.  Thank you for your continued support for our pupils, staff and for the prímhoide nua who will be appointed asap. 'Ní neart go cur le chéile!'

  • Your child’s school reports will be accessible through your new Aladdin Connect phone APP early next week. Please connect and install the App, in the event that you may not have done so already. The email was sent to you @ 15/05, and if you have any teething troubles please email Lára, Rúnaí na scoile at [email protected]  The phone APP will be the school’s new instant way of keeping in touch and keeping in communication with you. 
  • Go néirí an tádh, slán agus beannacht to our Rang 6 pupils who will be commencing their secondary school education in September. Buíochas le M Gearóid, who is working with staff and R6 pupils to make a memorable Graduation Power Point on the occasion of R6’s Graduation. I wish R6 continued progress with your studies to reach your own true potential in the years ahead.  Thank you to parents for your continued guidance for the páistí, and congratulations to you also. A warm invitation has been issued to you to view the Castlebar Web Cam Aifreann R6 which is scheduled to take place on Friday 19, at 7pm, which is being offered and celebrated by Rev. Fr. Conal Eustace especially for R6, your family and your intentions, as you graduate from Scoil Raifteirí. Congratulations and Ádh mór oraibh! 
  • If you wish, we would appreciate the donation of Rang 6’s school books by placing them in the clean blue wheelie bin to be made available at the front of the school where you can leave the books safely, date and time TBC.
  • Guided Prices of Second-Hand Books:  will be issued to you via the noticeboard on your Aladdin APP. Parents may contact one another to arrange a good book deal amongst yourselves for this year. Pupils in all classes are asked to ensure that the books are in good condition and are a saleable item. No one wants to buy a messy book. 
  • School Book Returns: Staff have asked me to remind you to mind all of the school text and reading books that you have received for homework and reading purposes, and to have them ready to be returned to the class teachers on Monday, August 31,2020, in good condition.  
  • Book Class Lists will be issued to your shortly.  We have tried our best to keep everything as reasonable and practical as possible.  
  • Tuairisc Bliaintúil Scoil Raifteirí: Scoil Raifteirí Annual Report for 2020 will be available to view on the school website, and will be attached to this letter for your information. 
  • New Pupil Admission Policy and Notice: Irish and English versions are also available for your information.
  • Admissions for school year 2021:  all pupils will be required to be registered in accordance with the Admissions Policy and New Admissions Notice commencing from October 01, 2020. 
  • Information from National Council Special Education, regarding our ‘Special Needs Assistant Exceptional Review Application’ to be received next week concerning a number of prospective Junior Infant and registered pupils regarding additional support in our school.
